Buying a Vehicle
The Millstream Career & Technology Center accepts donated vehicles to be used as both a learning tool and as a fund raising instrument. These donations may be considered a “charitable donation” for tax purposes.
Donated cars are accepted by the Findlay City Schools’ Board of Education and the vehicle’s title is transferred into their name.
Students in the Automotive Technology or Automotive Maintenance programs evaluate, diagnose and repair problems affecting the vehicle’s roadworthiness. Once a vehicle is determined to be roadworthy and in operating condition, it may be offered for sale to the general public.
The procedure is to advertise the vehicle and post a “Bid Sheet” and “Condition Report” on the Millstream website.
Interested parties can examine the car in person by contacting the instructors at the phone number listed on the bid sheet or condition report.
Due to liability, test drives are not possible.
Generally there will be a 2-week window for submitting a sealed bid to the Findlay City Schools’ Treasurer’s Office. The Bid Sheet outlines the dates for submitting and when bids will be opened. Anyone 18 years of age or older, may bid.
Bids will be opened at the Treasurer’s Office and the highest bidder contacted. A 10% down payment is expected within 48 hours and full payment within one week. Transporting the newly purchased vehicle will be the responsibility of the buyer. The title will be transferred upon payment and verification of funds.
The condition report is based on the instructors’ best information and does not imply any warranty or guarantee. All vehicles are sold “as-is”.

Thank you for your interest.
